Hand Painted Kitchen Lichfield, Staffordshire
What a treat to work in Lichfield again. Over my 25 years as a Hand Painted Kitchen Specialist and Master Kitchen Painter, I’ve worked in and around the city many times, and it never ceases to delight me – beautiful historic streets, ancient architecture, and fantastic people.
My clients for this super cute kitchen definitely fell into the “fantastic” category! I was made right at home straight away with tales about their gorgeous Victorian home, their incredible careers, and our shared interests… I was in heaven!
The kitchen, although rather compact, had served them well for many years. They had recently had some building work completed and had a new worktop fitted in anticipation of my visit.
Although very colour-confident people, they asked for my assistance in choosing the paint colours. We opted for a split colour scheme with “Juniper Ash” on the base units to complement their tiles and “Light Gray” as a warm neutral for the high-level units. We took our time looking at various combinations on different elevations in different lighting scenarios before coming to a unanimous agreement.
Just because this is a smaller kitchen, I still approach it in the same way that I would with a larger kitchen. No corners are cut, and I still use my time-honoured process to achieve a flawless finish. I still remove all doors and drawer fronts from the carcase, and I still take my time applying coat upon coat of industry-leading paint to the substrates.
New walnut handles were fitted (the grain all lined up horizontally, as anyone who knows me will understand my obsession). The doors were refitted, and tad-ah! A beautiful bespoke paint finish on a now rather smart Lichfield kitchen.
I love what I do; I’m invited into homes and asked to make them beautiful… what a privilege.
