Hand Painted Kitchen Belbroughton - Worcestershire
This lovely Hand Painted Kitchen project in Belbroughton, Worcestershire, was quite a snowy affair; halfway through, the heavens opened and covered the landscape with a substantial coat of snow… which, then, of course, turned to ice – making it quite impossible to get to our client’s home for a few days! Luckily our deadline wasn’t too tight and we were able to complete the project in good time before the Christmas festivities… phewww!Belbroughton is a beautiful village in Worcestershire – a part of the World in which we have worked quite extensively…Belbroughton is a “civil parish in the Bromsgrove District of Worcestershire, England. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 2,380. It is about six miles north of Bromsgrove, six miles east of Kidderminster and four miles south of Stourbridge. The village of Clent is nearby”. (Thanks Wikipedia!).
This particular kitchen was originally built by the Worcestershire manufacturer “Hatt”, we’re not sure how old it is, as it was inherited by our clients when they bought the house – they rightly took the decision not to replace, as they felt that it was well made and that renovation would be a good route forward for it.
We followed our tried and tested system of degreasing, with our preferred specialist products and followed on by sanding all surfaces, to be painted, with our Dust-Free sanding system (99.9% dust free) – Coats of our preferred high adhesion primer followed (tinted to the same colour as the topcoats) and extensive filling throughout, in order to give the best possible finish.
New handles were ordered by our clients and we happily fitted them.
The finished project is a polar change from how it originally looked as “bare” wood…our clients were confident with their colour scheme – a bold choice which paid dividends! Tops coats of 30% sheen Tikkurila Helmi gave a fabulous low sheen finish, complementing the kitchen in this beautiful home.
Our clients were very pleased with how the project looked when completed and even wrote a wonderful review (see below). We would like to thank them for making us so very welcome and look forward to seeing them next year as part of our annual maintenance program.

We had a good functional kitchen but it was rather dark and also showing signs of fatigue. A friend suggested that I considered painting the doors etc to create a fresher look.
